Athletic Policy The Athletic Program at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic School is open to all students in grades 6-8, with Fifth Graders being invited to participate only in case of strong interest and/or the need to fill out a roster. Our teams participate in an interscholastic program coordinated by the Catholic Athletic Association (CAA). Any student in grades 6-8 may participate, as long as he/she is in compliance with school policies on eligibility. It is the policy of St. Pascal Baylon Catholic School that no athlete is ever "cut" from a team. The following sports are offered at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic School: volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, fast pitch softball, golf, and track. St. Pascal's Wins City Volleyball Championship The St. Pascal's B Volleyball rallied from a large deficit to win the Catholic Athletic Association City Championship on Sunday, November 1 at St. Agnes High School. There were nearly 30 schools with B teams, which are defined by the CAA as made up of students in grades seven and under, and the championship match of the playoff tournament matched St. Pascal's against rival Transfiguration. Transfiguration had defeated St. Pascal's in the sixth grade championship match last year and the Knights had gained some revenge by beating Transfiguration in a match earlier this season. Everyone was expecting a close, well played championship match and they were not disappointed. ![]() St. Pascal's began the match playing extremely well and jumped out to a big lead in the first game of the best of three match before winning 25-17. The second game was just the opposite, with Transfiguration opening up a big lead before St. Pascal's rallied to take a one point lead late in the game. Transfiguration eventually won game two 28-26 to even the match at one game all. The Tigers got off to another fast start in the deciding game three, jumping out to a seemingly comfortable 9-0 lead. St. Pascal's refused to quit, however, and kept chipping away at the lead until they eventually tied the game at 13-13. The Knights then served out the final two points to claim the championship. Congratulations to the following team members: Carly Koemptgen, Maggie Krawczyk, Emily Kriegl, Paige Lautigar, Sarah Link, Hailey Meis, Lily Reyes, Chloe Rock, Megan Roth and Gloria Wang. Special thanks and congratulations to coaches Jean and Lauren Link for their outstanding job during the season. Winter Sports Sign-up for Winter sports usually takes place in late October.
